System Requirements

Environments:

  • Windows 2000 SP4, Windows XP with or without service packs (32-bit only)
  • Windows Vista: All versions (32-bit only)
  • Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 (32-bit only)
  • Windows 7: All versions (32-bit only)

Hardware requirements:

  • 1.0 GHz or faster processor (1.2 GHz multicore or higher recommended)
  • 500 Mb of RAM or better (>1 GB recommended)
  • 50 Mb of available hard-disk space for installation
  • Sound card and microphone if you need audio recording

Software requirements:

  • For HTML Slideshow and AJAX simulations:
    • The following web browsers are fully supported and tested:
      • Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher (highly recommended)
      • Google Chrome
      • Safari 4 or higher
      • Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (7.0 or higher recommended)
      • Opera 9.50 or higher (not recommended because Opera doesn’t allow to simulate right-click by default)
    • Adobe Flash Player (version 9.0.31 or later) is required for AJAX (for audio playback) and Flash simulations.
  • For Microsoft Word export: Microsoft Word 2000 or higher.
  • For Microsoft Excel export: Microsoft Excel 2000 or higher.
  • For Microsoft PowerPoint import/export: Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 or higher.

Free Edition

Free Edition is free of charge, as its name implies. However, it still has almost all the features as in the Standard or Professional Edition, except the export capability.

With this free edition, you can easily create video demonstration for your software within minutes.

Standard Edition

If you only want to create manuals, handouts, or documentation with ActivePresenter then the Standard Edition is the proper choice.

In addition to the capability to export recorded project to Image series or Video as in the Free Edition, you can also export to popular document formats, such as:

  • FlashVideo (FLV)
  • Microsoft Word Documents (DOC)
  • Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets (XLS)
  • Adobe PDF
  • HTML Slideshow

Compared to the Professional Edition, the Standard Edition only lacks the capability to export to interactive AJAX/Flash simulations and Powerpoint presentations.

Professional Edition

Besides the capability to create Video (AVI, WMV, MPEG4/MP4), FlashVideo (FLV), HTML, or other document formats (PDF, DOC, XLS), Professional Edition also bring you amazing capability to create interactive AJAX/Flash simulations and Microsoft Powerpoint presentations.
